Codeworks is an IT Services firm headquartered in SE Wisconsin, known for our strong commitment to quality and for our direct client relationships.

Who We’re Looking For: A local DBA to Dimondale, MI with expertise in Transparent Data Encryption SQL Server, HA and DR solutions. This is a long term on site hybrid (2 days per week) contract position in Dimondale, MI. You must have current residence within driving distance to Dimondale, MI at the time of application to be considered for this position.

Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server database systems
Optimize queries, indexes, and overall database performance
Manage user roles and permissions; implement security best practices and policies
Develop and maintain backup strategies and disaster recovery protocols
Monitor database health, performance, and uptime; resolve database-related issues
Create and maintain technical documentation for database configurations and procedures
Partner with development and infrastructure teams to meet database requirements and resolve issues
Assist with database design and schema development
Create and maintain objects such as tables, views, stored procedures, and functions
Implement and manage High Availability solutions (e.g., Always On Availability Groups, clustering)
Conduct capacity planning and performance forecasting
Automate routine maintenance tasks through scripting
Apply patches and updates to ensure secure and updated systems
Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards
Produce reports and visualizations on database metrics and performance

Qualifications:
4+ years of hands-on experience with SQL Server (2016 or later)
Proficiency in implementing High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions
Experience using Transparent Data Encryption in SQL Server
2+ years of experience creating, updating, and maintaining system documentation
Must be currently located within approximately 90 minutes of Lansing, MI and available to work 2 days on site per week.

Codeworks, LLC discloses that the anticipated hourly pay range for this position is between $40 - $54. This range is subject to change based on job-related factors, including client requirements where applicable.
